My home came prewired for speakers, but for some reason they used RCA cables rather than normal speaker wire. These adapters solve my problem and kept the wiring clean. Note that this is a thin wire gauge and should only be used for low watt speaker configurations. For me, they were the best solution, and arrived in the same specification as the description.

Vary nice accessory for hooking up speakers with mail RCA plugs on the end of their speaker wire, to a high quality stereo or surround sound receiver. The black caps can be screwed off to check polarity. The solder work looks good and they even striped the wire ends and put a little solder on them. Perfect if your upgrading to a good surround receiver from a cheap system but you want to keep using some or all of the old speakers, that had built in wire with RCA plugs to attach them to the old player/amp.

It worked to allow me to plug in a couple of Bose rear surround speakers to my receiver that only had speaker wire out puts and the Bose had RCA inputs. Kind of expensive and probably could make them on your own, but it was convenient and hassle free.
