Oregon is wet and I put a thick coat on my boots before a wet hike. My feet are happy now. I scoop out with my fingers and liberally smear it on and then use my heat gun to melt it in. I usually like to do this a couple of days before my hike. I have lowa boots. I am reasonable in knowing that my mucks are better for keeping my feet dry but a leather hiking boot is prefered for comfort and traction. Even though boots say they have a gortex lining your feet will still get wet. I think this is a better way to expect to keep your feet dry in leather.

Best leather treatment I’ve found. Better than nikwax. And this big jar will do a ton of gloves!
