This collection has a variety of animals to view. It is a popular choice in the classroom. Wish they would have included a child in the collection since this is the target audience. Overall pleased with the purchase!

I thought these would be like actual x-ray type material. Rather, it is just a piece of card stock that has been printed with very black ink. Holding it up to a light doesn't make the image much clearer.. because it's already clear. The light (which I bought separately because I thought my kid would need it based on the photo on the box) is entirely unnecessary. CONS: Xray material would be a little bit harder to destroy. I foresee this card stock getting bent and torn in no time at all. Lacks authenticity of real xray. PROS: The one good thing is about the product I didn't expect is that there is a picture of the animal printed on the opposite side that the bones on the opposite side align with .. so that does have educational value an xray would not.

Excellent cards! My nephew, 5, loved looking at them again and again! My Mom held them up to the light shining thorough the window in mid-June northern california weather and I saw the X-rays through the front side of the cards just fine. The backside is purely black and white and can be laid out on the table side by side for comparison. I was concerned about the opacity of the cards after reading some negative reviews, but we're all very happy with the product. It's a great learning tool for young children because it shows how bones protect the body, allow for many types of movements, and shows the similarities and differences among the different species.
