Construction of the 350i HC is second to none, and features an elegant polycarbonate rear housing available in either black or clear with a durable hi-temperature rated front housing. The 350i HC is designed to be adaptable to a wide range of power cables the removable insert can accommodate cable diameters from 0.300" (7.62mm) to 0.655" (16.63mm).
Installation is simplified due to clearly marked, tightly-spaced, funnel shaped holes to guide the conductors into the unique Perma-Lock™ terminals. Perma-Lock™ terminals work in the following way: As the terminal screw tightens down on the contact tang, it compresses the wire underneath the tang, and the screw exerts an upwards lift of the collar overleaf. This lifting action "locks up" the threads screws. Stress on the terminals is virtually eliminated. Heat cycling and vibration cannot loosen the screw.
The real departure the 350i HC takes from conventional IEC connectors lies in the contact elements themselves. Their contacts are engineered to posses a high spring rate to securely grip the connector. In addition, a three-layer plating process is added: Oxygen free copper plating, electrolysis nickel, and finally 24k gold plating dramatically improves conductivity and prevents corrosion. Plug is cryogenically treated, rated at 125 VAC, 20A, and accepts up to 10 gauge wire.
