This shelf looks beautiful in our living room and we've received a ton of compliments on it being so much more interesting then a regular shelf. Only problem was after being in the same place for a few years I tried to move it and the top where it leans against the wall pulled off a strip of paint, easy fix is just to place a barrier between the two which I will do when we repaint... for now I just put it back in the exact same place so nobody can tell the paint is missing. =)

Very easy to put together. Very sturdy. I like that the sides are all one piece of wood and not pieces you screw together. Our daughter had several of these and we decided to buy one for our office. We plan to buy more. I wish this brand came in different colors.

These shelves are amazingly sturdy. I had a single shelf that was similar, purchased from a department store ten years ago, and I decided that I wanted a second. The great thing about these shelves is that they are unobtrusive in small spaces.. Unfortunately, too much time had passed to buy the original's match. Luckily, two of these shelves cost less than the original. The quality is also superior to my original shelf, no wobbles, and you can tell that real wood is used in the upright supports. They were relatively easy to put together, too, each took about a half hour.

Easy to put together, even for a single lady. Fits great in my bedroom! Would have given five stars but holes didn't line up for the bottom support piece.

very well made and sturdy, the dowel holes were overdrilled (too deep) and I would have preferred better quality dowels.It is currently holding a good amount of A/V equipment and books with no worries about it holding it all.Nice finish highly recommended product.

This bookcase is just as good as some pricier ones.I searched weeks for ladder bookcases . Very happy with my choice.The box was heavy and long so ladies will need help to lift or carry.Came packaged really well. Each piece was wrapped separately with all the correct hardware.Once all the pieces are unpacked, (a little time consuming) it will take about 30 to 40 minutes to assemble.A small spot on one of the shelves was missing the finish but a touch of black marker did the trick and is not noticeable.Not flimsy. Nice and sturdy. I don't know what the weight limit is but I put six large text books on one shelf and it's holding up just fine.I placed these bookcases against a wall with a 55 inch TV in between. They look sleek and stylish.Good quality for the price.

I was looking for a leaning bookshelf that was black, heavy, had notches in the poles for the shelves, and did not have the split poles. This bookshelf is perfect. Putting it together was frustrating because I had a hard time figuring out which was the top bar and which was the bottom bar. But after I figured that out, it went pretty quickly. One reviewer said it was wobbly, and I can only guess that he/she must not have put it together correctly because it is very stable and sturdy. One reviewer said the poles are split, and that is not correct - it comes in a very tall box with solid poles. I love it. I am going to order another one.

no problems, except the diagram for putting the foot on the bottom was backwards or something, but it's pretty obvious how to put it on - there's only one way it goes on. also the instructions say you need two people but you don't really.as some other people have said, the bottom shelf is probably too deep to put most books on without bookends or something, but it's still a good place to put other stuff. the top shelf is not too shallow to put most books.all in all, it met my expectations for a nice, sturdy, stylish bookshelf.

The product is inexpensive because its not made out of hardwood instead it's particle board with a fake wood veneer cover.Its still a nice looking bookshelf, and can hold a lot of books (at least 100), and with a variety of self sizes you can sort out your big books from your small. Putting it together to less than an hour, as long as you follow the short construction manual (2 pages). All in all I think it is a good product and the reason I gave it a 4 star review is only because it's not "real" hardwood, and I knew it wouldn't be when I ordered it but I think for the price it's great.

Bought this solely for a bookshelf in my office. Reviews of similar products described them as flimsy for books. So far it seems very sturdy and is able to hold my books and looks great. took about 45 min. to put together by myself.

This looks like a really nice shelving unit. I do have some questions before I buy though. What are the measurements? And does it look like solid wood or ironed on laminate like a Sauder piece of furniture? Thanks for your help!

I was close to requesting cancellation, but thank god it was too late ^^ this shelf is nice and modern and sets a good mood in a room, i have this in my office/bedroom and couldn't be happier, and for the price, i couldn't be more pleased :D

I think my title says it all. The piece itself is very nice. Sturdy like others have said, which is why I purchased it. But somewhat confusing to put together. I was never able to get the bolts completely secured, but it seems fine. Overall I'm glad that I bought it.
