pros: sturdy does not blow over in the wind (heavy enough)supports large canvases (mine was 1yard high)does not obstruct foot spacehas tray space to put equipmentfunctionsquality workmanship(better than other plywood furniture, though not as good as real wood) imo a waste of talent used on plywood, would have paid more for same workmanship on real wood and better design that does not rely on friction alone to hold the weightcost (cheap for the quality, you can easily spend much more money on a less functional one)cons: plywood (durability) - mine cracked during installation and had small pieces missing from the 5 layer sandwich out of the box prior to installation(did not compromise structure)poor design (rear support could not extend all the way to lean against front support thus all weight is transferred through the two thin sliding things and the hinge)can not sustain heavy load (held up by friction alone(chance of it sliding down overnight))canvas does not lie flush to the back due to design, it sits at an angle with the top against the two support legs and the bottom against the tray (if you are using a crappy canvas it can easily be pierced)(particular to mine only)one wooden dowel was too shortpilot screw hole was at the wrong anglewood pieces did not match perfectly(not flush(cosmetic), though assemblable and functional)notes:among the hundreds of wooden and metal easels I've tested this one is least retarded in design, it is both sturdy and functional despite it's significant flaws (i'm still searching for a better one under $200)

The easel is great. Little flimsy but for the price I am pleased. Already painted 3 pieces on different size canvas. For a beginner I would recommend it.

Bought these for work, and have gotten so many compliments on them. Very sturdy, very handsome pieces that bring events to the next level. Well worth a few extra dollars so as to ensure they are not flimsy.
