I have a similar (narrow & five shellves) from Pier One that cost more............but, it was truly a fold & take shelf. This shelf arrived quickly, in a very long, heavy box that I could not handle. I had the apartment handyman bringit up to my place to open & UNFOLD! Ha.........not so easy, it had to be put together as all the pieces were lyingflat in the box. It took both of us to hold it together, put shelves, screws, plugs, etc.........at least half an hour to getit done!Oh, it looks good, seems sturdy, but be aware it does take a while to assemble & definitely TWO people.I look forward to putting my valued items on it tomorrow.

After the first purchase, I noticed it was too short, so I bought another one. looks great, and would recommend.

I bought this as part of my display for art shows and it's perfect. It folds up nice and small to fit in my car. It looks great and works perfect for displaying jewelry at the shows. The shelves fell on my fingers the first few times I used it, then I finally learned to get my hands out of the way when setting it up! :-) I had no problems putting it together all by myself. Just don't tighten all the screws till the very end. Keep them lose so it's easier to get the shelves in. I own a lot of Ikea furniture, I've learned the tricks of the trade over the years.

When I was in college many years ago I had a couple of folding stackable bookshelves. Since I moved often these were ideal for transporting easily from place to place, and easy to set up. I was always acquiring more and more books. I had my original book shelves for nearly 25 years, and had added considerably to my collection of folding bookshelves, but catastrophes happen, and I lost them. Living in a new small space, I absolutely NEEDED this type of shelving again. The Winsome Wood shelves are easy to put together (granted, one stage of building them can test your patience, but still its easy). For their weight and portability they are sturdy -- I have some heavy books. The finish is nice. They stack well. Where I live there are uneven floors, and I am able to put tiny shims at the bottom that levels them out and stablizes them readily (important to have them stable if you have many heavy books). Additionally, the shelves can be screwed to the walls in some cases if such security is needed (perhaps with children that might pull on them and dump the shelves and their contents) and the connecting hardware for stacking can act as anchoring hardware. With the 3-tier units and the 4-tier towers, a variety of configurations can be arranged, making them versatile and attractive. I have used many styles of shelving, and other than "built-in" bookshelves (obviously not portable and limiting in their ease of rearranging), these are by far my favorite shelving solution. If I had more room I'd have even more of these shelves. Well worth the price. Ideal for students, small rooms, frequent moves, but nice in nearly any setting (I used a previous set as an entertainment center in my living room). I definitely would recommend these easily portable versatile shelving units.

This piece isn't made to hold mass amount of weight but it is very functional and I've been very impressed with the quality.Address a few complaints I saw.- Instructions came with it.- Was not hard to assemble at all.For a cheap shelving unit it works great. I use it to put my xbox, apple tv, and misc. DVD's and games. With prime it came it just 2 days and I couldn't be happier. Got my money worth and it exceeded my expectations.

I have six of these now...they have all proven to be VERY easy to assemble (I did it on my own, in my office, with my 3 y/o "helping" me throughout the process and NEVER had a problem) stable, and great looking. I have four of these stacked one on top of the other, and they make a very stable, useful shelf for books and office "treasures".They fold easily, are light (but still strong enough for my books) and look very good, especially for the price. You could do much worse for the money, and in my experience (and I shopped around) it would cost a lot more to do better. If you are looking for a good shelf for use around the house, these are very good for the money. If you need to move fairly frequently (we are a military family and move about every 3 years) the fact that those fold down will really help you out.I highly recommend these shelves!

I was expecting this shelf to be kind of crappy, since it was so cheap, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is very sturdy and looks pretty nice. It was very easy to put together. It did come with a couple of chips in the paint, but not enough for me to care about. I'm actually considering buying another one, just because it was such a good deal. ***Edit: When I bought this it was ~$25, now I see it is $70!? I definitely wouldn't pay that much for it.

We use these for display of all kinds of things. We need them stackable and easy to store. This shelving is perfect! We take them down and put them up all the time and have no trouble. They fold and are very easy to move. I think the guy who said they were drilled wrong just got a bad item and should have returned it. They use to be available at local stores and we have probably ten shelves - never a problem!

I just purchased 4 of these for my grandson. My husband has 4 in his office (stacked 2 high) that we purchased years ago from another vendor. The 4 I just bought for my grandson are the same (different color). I don't really understand the folks that expressed problems with putting them together. The assembly is a piece of cake (of course, I subscribe to the philosophy that directions are for wimps). The directions aren't the best I've ever seen but definitely not the worst. These are solid beechwood, not particle board and the assembly isn't bad. It took me about a half hour per case to assemble. The really nice thing about them is that they collapse for when you want to reorganize a space or if you move. They are definitely sturdy enough to hold anything we will put on them. My husband has his piled with books and we've never had a problem. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for inexpensive but durable bookcases.

These shelves were a little tricky to put together, but the instructions were clear. They are EXACTLY what I expected and they were perfectly for my displays.

I bought 2 foldable [3 shelf] bookcases for my church to replace very heavy metal ones. These have some weight to them and seem to be strong. Being able to fold them to put them in storage is very handy for us. Fairly easy to put together and the black was black.
