Beautiful knife set. Solid build. Only reason for 4 of 5 stars... upon opening the product there were small specks of rust that had begun to emerge on the blade edge... Is the actually made of stainless steel?

It's the right size for a ribeye steak. Looks and functions just right. Easy to clean

i haven't had any issues with the wood (i hand-wash them) but the serration is absolutely awful. i bought two sets to replace my aging steak knives, and these just sit uselessly in a custom-made block because they make a hot mess out of literally any cut of meat. rare steak? useless. medium rare steak? useless. well-done steak? useless. chicken breast? useless. pork chop? useless. i have yet to find anything it can actually cut without it feeling like using an old school handsaw.<br /><br />you know it's bad when your whole family silently decides to use a crap $12 set from walmart instead of these knives when something actually needs to be cut. the handles look lovely and i can get to pretend i own fancy, functional steak knives, but they've only ever been useful as a $40 display piece.

Overrated and overpriced but functional.

I love the substantial look of these knives. I ordered a dozen for a family gathering, and the knives looked beautiful on the table and cut through the filets with ease. I use a mineral oil on the wooden handles before and after each use and hand wash the blades. To store the knives, I use the small, plastic tip guards that came with the knives to keep the knife tips sharp and my fingers safe. I would buy these knives again, BUT they are large. If you're looking for a slimmer, lighter knife, keep looking. If you prefer a knife that looks like it could cut through a moose, these are the knives for you.

Bought these knifes and was hoping they would stay sharp for at least a little while... Sorry to say that the one I usually use is already becoming dull.... They are a nice looking set, but the sharpness fades fast.. One other point is I have never put these knifes in the dishwasher either..
