CSD Ultra Pro Unspeakable Words Deluxe Edition P9948593CSD-300426199 https://cdnimages.opentip.com/full/CSD/CSD-300426199.jpg Ultra Pro Unspeakable Words Deluxe Edition Unspeakable Words is the Call of Cthulhu Word Game designed by James Ernest and Mike Selinker. In the game, you and your opponents will attempt to form words from the letter cards in your hand. Each letter is worth points – the amount of points is determined by the number of angles in the letter (where the hounds of Tindalos are lurking!). You may try to make the highest scoring word possible, but… you’ll have to test the strength of the word against a roll of the 20-sided die. Roll equal to or higher than the value of your word and you’re safe… but roll less than the value of your word and you lose a precious piece of your sanity, represented by an adorable Cthulhu pawn! Each letter is uniquely illustrated with a horrifying character from the works of H.P. Lovecraft, which adds to the dark whimsy of the game. 9948593 803004261992 0.3800lbs 2.00 5.00 5.00

My kids and I love this game! We saw it played on Tabletop and had to have it! I admit that I purchased it because I love the cards and the cute little Cthulhus. However, it has become a word game that my kids love to play with me as well as younger friends, since the score is not completely dependent on the quality of your words. It levels the playing field a bit between older and younger players. Great, easy to learn and play game for multi leveled groups!

Cathulu pawns! Scrabble squares have nothing on adult oriented geeks Cathulu pawns fleeing failed rolls. This game cam be mild G-rated, or you can let your crazy, X-rated, geeky friends risk their sanity big words against dice rolls. The game is simple in premis... "Each card in the box has a letter of the English alphabet. "Each letter has a score equal to the number of angles in the letter. 34;C34; has 0. 34;T34; has 2. "Deal 7 cards 6 Cathulu pawns per player. (At the end of your turn, draw cards until you have 7.) "Each player takes a turn spelling a word. Any word can only be used once. Add together the letter scores for a word score. "Roll equal to or below your word score to keep your sanity. If you fail your roll, you lose a pawn representing your sanity. "Loose all your pawns, loose the game. Reach 100 points, win the game. Even my friends that 34;hate playing games34; were playing along laughing all the while.

We've found we need to add a d6 with the d20 as everyone misses their sanity check when playing words and no one has won at this game yet. It's just not fun to use shorter words for less points to make any progress. Also the deck of cards is so big it's challenging to shuffle it thoroughly so you aren't getting boat loads of consonants all the time.

Game needs more mechanics. It is just boring. There is no strategy to it.

Been waiting to get this game! Love it! I like the additions of extra rules (Chewx rule is awesome! Thanks Wil!) and the fun, glow-in-the-dark pieces... not that this game needed them... just more fun.

This is a fun, good quality game. The cards are a good quality with entertaining art. The figures are fun. Some of the figures in my box did have some uneven spots on the base, but this has not stopped them from standing properly. If you're looking for a fun, less serious word game to play with family or friends, give this one a try!
