I was worried about the heels being too high, but because these are well made boots the heels are attached solidly and give a good deal of stability to the boots. I mean, I'm not going to wear them hiking, but I've been able to navigate the steepish hills in my neighborhood with little problem. And on level surfaces they are comfortable and easy to walk in.I've gotten numerous compliments walking around town while wearing these. They look really good with short or midi skirts, and I'm sure they would look good over leggings.The calf area fits well on me. They are a little tight when zipping up past the ankle, but once zipped they fit well and provide good stability.

She had to take a blow dryer to them, to stretch them around her calves. But now she loves them.
