This rope did not meet expectations. It is sturdy, and the anchoring ring is solid and tight. The rope is darn near unclimbable for your athletes. it's slick and there is very little grip even with chalk, or gloves. The fibers are woven so tightly that getting any semblance of a goo, secure grip is next to impossible. I bought it in a punch as my other rope was delayed, and i found out quickly why it was half the cost. All of our athletes climb regularly and had an issue with this rope

Really good quality - but overall this is an incredibly stiff and inflexible rope - it's really hard to get a grip (feels more like grabbing a metal pole, it's that tightly wound) as opposed to natural fiber. On the other hand, it may just be a matter of getting used to it and building up grip strength. So quality is 5 stars - but usability is maybe a 3.

This is not the climbing rope I recall using when I was a kid. I bought it for my son and it is completely unusable for climbing. It has a very waxy and slick feel and is impossible to hold onto when climbing. I'm going to return it.
