Purchased as an exact replacement for a previous motor. All specs (e.g. hp, rotation direction, amps, and even form factor) were all the same as the old motor but I had no specs for mounting stud spacing/alignment. I assumed they would be the same.Turns out the mounting studs on the top of the motor housing aren't in the same spot as the old motor. They are a different distance from the center axis of the motor shaft. This difference will not allow the new motor to be mounted using the same holes on the mounting bracket as the old motor used. In my case I had multiple different hole configurations and none of them fit. I ended up drilling new holes in the original fan mounting bracket, but had to be very careful to ensure the new motor would be mounted EXACTLY in the center. Centering was imperative to ensure the fan blades won't clash with any other parts inside the condenser unit...there was very little clearance. The mounting bracket is pretty hard steel, as it should be, and the holes needed to be drilled so the mounting studs would fit with little to no play to avoid an loosening and possible movement from center position. The new mounting studs were different threads and size from the old ones so I couldn't reuse the acorn cap nuts, nor could I find acorn cap nuts with the right threads so I used a regular flat nut and then sealed the threads and nuts with water proof material.Other than the extra work being slightly annoying, the motor has been running great for over a year. Seems durable and well worth the hundred dollars.Much better than purchasing a new condenser unit since this one is still working even though it's old.If you're purchasing as a replacement, be advised that you may have to do some modifications to get it mounted correctly.
