LOVE THIS PICKER. The only downfall is the rubber grippers fall off easily. We've wrapped some rescue tape to keep them on as I don't want to lose them, they protect the fruit and make gripping better when you twist the oranges off.

I looked a long time to find something to pick my oranges. I finally decided this was worth a try. It was a little expensive but works fantastic and worth the price. My tree produces large oranges that have to be twisted several times and this picker worked great. Extension length was perfect. Would definitely recommend this product.

My claw-type picker broke. I got this one and am pleased so far. I like that it has 3 prongs, the fruit stays secure until you get it down. With the 2-prongs, the fruit can slide out the side. I also have the basket kind of fruit harvester but this one is better for more precision and to get lemons that are angled sideways. It was expensive so I hope it lasts. My other kind lasted 10 years with lots of use. I've used this with lemons and grapefruits so far. Wish the longer one was available.

Wish I got this sooner. I'm using it so far for papaya will use for tangerine and lemon when in season. Works really well for Papaya! Other pickers are to small and don't work with tight clustered fruit. Grabs the fruit secure without damaging it. The only negative I can see is the jaws that grab the fruit are plastic so not sure how they will hold up. There is some flex when twisting the fruit off. Would be 5?stars if they were made with metal.

I had Franken-fruit oranges and lemons this year. Fruit the size of cantaloupes. The standard fruit-picking basket grabber was no match. These however worked like a charm! Great product.

This tool is infinitely better than the basket-type fruit pickers which puncture and bruise the fruit and snag branches on the tree. You can grab each fruit individually and twist it off even when they are very close together. You can't pick more than one at a time like with the basket but you can lower the end down and set the fruit carefully on the ground instead of having to haul it all the way in and pick the fruit out of the basket so it isn't really any slower to use. I got the 10 foot model and can easily reach anywhere in my big pear tree.

We bought this picker to pick big ?Fuerte? avocados (twice the size of what the grocery store labels as large Haas avocados) and especially pomegranates, because pomegranates cling to the tree with a death grip, and when we try to pick them using a good old basket-ended picker, the basket comes off or the picker pole bends and the pomegranate remains stubbornly attached to the tree. A picker with which we could grab the fruit, lock the picker onto it, and then twist until it comes off, seemed ideal.On unboxing it I was pleasantly surprised. Although it is very lightweight, it seems very well made.But the only problem is the locking mechanism. You know those gasoline station pump nozzles that let you squeeze the handle to get the flow rate you want, then flip a little lever down to lock the nozzle handle in place so it can fill the tank unattended? That's the same mechanism used here. But where the gas station nozzle lever allows you to lock the handle in place at 2 or 3 different flow rates, this locking lever can only be engaged when the picker's grabber end is fully closed down.That would work great for most apples or for Haas avocados. But for big fruit like we want to pick, the fruit is so fat that you can't squeeze the handle down far enough to engage the locking mechanism.So now you've grabbed a pomegranate from the top of the tree, but it's too big for you to lock the picker's handle, so you have to try to hold the handle closed tight by hand as you twist the picker, which is nigh on impossible, because it can take many revolutions for a pomegranate to finally twist loose.So for pomegranates high up in the tree, what we hoped would be a one-person job now involves one person holding the fruit with the picker and pulling it down, while a second person stands on a stepladder and uses long-handled pruning shears to snip off the fruit.All this could've been avoided if the picker locking mechanism allowed you to lock it at any point, or at least at a few different points, instead of only allowing you to lock it after it has fully closed down.
