Bought these as grass and weed trimmers or shears... Opened them up today and was very impressed... Further was a treat to use them... Easy to work - very easy on my hand. Little oil and hit the cutting edges with a file or stone now and then - keeps them in tip top shape... When these wear out will be ordering again...

The shears are meant for sheep, but I got them to cut back grasses in my garden. They do that fine, just a little stiff and hard to operate for my small hands.

Well made, traditional design, very, very sharp. Shears my sheep just like it should.

This item was used to groom my border collie who had excessive hair that was matting. These shears were sharp and remained sharp. I was able to trim the matted fur away and then use standard grooming scissors and combs to get her summer-ready.

Our dog has a very thick coat that an electric trimmer would bog down. Used these shears to take off the majority of the hair and the electric trimmer was able to finish up. It took 2 days using the shears to take off the thick coat. Not use to using our hands in the motion required for the shears. Had to let our old muscles recover. Would recommend for thick hair removal.

Very disappointed in these. I have ordered other shears that were far more effective. These were not great the first time I tried them on my labradoodle, but they rapidly list the minimal effectiveness they had by the second use. They were not sharp and want to cross blades.
