Used to replace woofers in old home-made speaker boxes. These are great in little 2-way systems. Good sound with plenty of presence for piano and vocals. Solidly built.

I put this speaker in a 15 watt Marshall guitar amplifier. It smokes, it added all that much tone quality to an already great practice amp. It was an experiment, putting a 200 watt car speaker in a guitar amplifier but it was a great combination.

As a hobbyist speaker builder, always wanted to see how whizzer cones / point source react. Huh, way better than expected! Built a sealed box, apx 1 cubic foot, thinking a ported box may fair better with the lows (next build)Running a subwoofer with these, without the sub there is plenty of bass in a smaller room. Mids and highs are great, does the job. Sound stage and instrument separation are incredible! Sensitivity guessing low to mid 90's DB.The magnets are larger than expected, this is a beefy speaker for the money. Highly recommended. Delivery less than 3 days. Totally happy with these.

I put these in an old (circa 1968) Radio Shack Criterion 77 enclosures. All speakers were not working or bad. With some adjustment for the screw holes and soldering the leads, they sound good. Good as a $500 pair, no! Good as my $200 Polks I have in another room? Better. Good as my re-speakered Bose 301s? Yes. These speakers are now in the computer room connected to a 30 year old amp and tuner. All this is low, or no tech. I have no instruments, gear, testers, resistance indicators and assorted other stuff guys like to talk about. Just my ears, that are old enough to appreciate my first Living Stereo album I bought in 1958 at the age of 16. I still have it.

I replaced old rotted 10-inch speakers with these 8-inch speakers using 1/2 plywood plates I made. I am thrilled with the sound quality! The boxes were Radio Shack Realistic Nova 18. It is a fun little project. (Plywood, jig saw, drill, wire, soldering iron, screws, nuts and bolts). The sound is much better than the old 10-inch speakers when they were new! The old speakers were all thump bass and treble but lacking the midrange frequency response needed for human voice. With the GRS 8FR-8 Full-Range 8 Pioneer Type B20FU20-51FW replacement speakers, I now have bright and clear well-rounded sound!
