This is a bit bulky for backpacking but it's very comfortable. It's definitely a luxury item, for sure, but it's worth it. If you're looking to save space in your bag, then get an inflatable one. They're not as comfy as this pillow but they are certainly a lot more compact. It's fairly light and it rolls up nicely. It's essentially a pillow that rolls up. For me, I like medium pillows, meaning not too big but not flat either and this worked well for me. I even made a little pillow case for mine to help keep it clean.
