Sliders could use leds to help see the position they are in. Sound wise it is pretty good. Front plate came damaged, bent on a corner, while box was untouched, I wonder if I got a refurbished unit?

Good design features. Quiet and accurate. Not too much shelf boost. Would buy again. I have now owned the unit for a little over two months and problems have arisen. Channel 1 has lost almost 10db of gain compared to channel 2. Have contacted manufacturer customer support. I will keep you posted on how it goes.

This is a quality built piece of professional equipment. It is heavy for an EQ, and not a toy EQ you get off the shelf at Best Buy. (If they still carry them on line) My Forst EQ was an Audio Control which was great until it broke several years back. This EQ has higher build quality. The controls are very precise, and it takes a novice like myself a while to get to know what the controls do. The sound is clean, and silent from any hiss, hum, and you cannot tell it is there at full volume no signal it is completely silent. (So is my Pre-Amp Power Amp.) This is not what I expected from an EQ under $200.00. I highly recommend it for the Home because that is where it sits. The room Acoustics have been completely compensated and this really makes detail come through I never would have heard. Wow! Exciting!

I bought this equalizer for my high-end stereo system (Prima Luna components, Vienna Acoustics speakers, OPPO CD) and I am well aware of the attitude towards equalizers among audiophiles, mainly that of not adding anything to the signal path. Since several high-end products, even speakers, have adjustable tone controls which are really equalizers, that's hard to defend. My purpose in buying this was specialized: I am compensating for age-related hearing loss in the upper register, starting about 2500K, so my personal signal path is messed with already. I wanted a unit with enough bands to have a reasonably smooth curve. This unit seems to be very well made. Even the owner's manual is well-done, glossy paper, with references to some actual music professionals. Even the questions they ask on the warranty form indicates this isn't a fly-by-night group. The things I really like on this unit is that is doesn't have all those gaudy LEDs on the band levers, it's got an adjustable DB range to choose from, and maybe most important to me, RCA jacks in the back. Most of the EQs at this level have only XLR jacks and I didn't want to mess with those. The only possible negative is that the tiny LEDs for the DB range are very bright, so I covered them. I am very happy with this equalizer. I am able to hear some things I was missing before.

I ordered this and a Rockville Audio EQ. Kept both, but only using the Rockville for now. I like it better all the way around. This is a nice EQ, don't get me wrong. If you're a fan of ART products this won't disappoint. That said, there are cheaper alternatives that might be better.
