I never write product reviews, but this one I felt the need to, because these traps have been far better than what I expected. My yard in a downtown area of a major city is infested with grey squirrels and they've been chewing things to shreds, driving my dog nuts, and eating our veggies. The city I live in does not allow discharging of any firearms, including BB guns and pellet guns. I also felt a bit guilty about the idea, so I looked into these traps. I've successfully trapped 6 squirrels in the past 2 days and relocated them to an open space area about 5 miles from here. I used Cheez-Its and peanut butter. They love it, they're angry at first, but they have a new home, no bodily harm done.

I have captured 20 plus chipmunks with trap in the last 3 weeks. I just put a few sunflower seeds on the tray. Seems to get them every time. My grapes and apples now have a better chance to make to maturity.

I had two less expense traps that required frequent repair where the squirrels were able to chew through the wire frames. They also required frequent resetting without a successful capture. The heavier gauge wire in the Havahart has not failed under attack from the rodent teeth. The trip mechanism and drop door insures capture when tripped. It's only fault is its affective at catching birds and rabbits as well as pesky squirrels.

It did its job and it was reasonable so I give it 5 stars. We used it to catch the squirrels that were eating all of our corn seed as soon as we planted it.

We wanted this to capture the pesky squirrels that eat all the fruit (yes they eat fruit) on our trees, leaving none for us. It works perfectly. It captures them so we can relocate them. We were worried when we saw it at first that it was too small...but turns out it's the perfect size. We had a different trap a while back that was a bit larger; it caught squirrels, but also caught the occasional skunk, etc. That was horrible so we wanted one that was large enough for squirrels, but not possums or skunks. This one is perfect! We have yet to trap any skunks, but it does occasionally catch a blue jay-for those we just open the door and they fly away. Thanks, Havahart.

Bought this for a friend whose chipmunks were munching on the heat and air wiring. She's been highly successful at relocating the little munchers.

I caught a squirrel after 3 days of leaving it near my screened patio. those critters chewed threw my screening to get inside looking for food. I hope this was the last one.
