It definitely has a strong smell but has been successful in our home for the pets and the people too. I remember my grandparents using this stuff and I tried it when desperately trying to heal my dogs tail wound - she's an intense wagger so every time the injury would reopen, blood would spray everywhere. We used this for literally a few days and it had closed up and a few more and it was essentially healed skin. She didn't particularly love the smell but she also didn't try to lick it off constantly either. I'll coat the bottoms of my feet with it, and thick socks, in winter to soften up and hydrate the skin. Again, not a great smell but it works!
