Oregon Ducks Crystal Freezer Mug

This was a Christmas present for my daughter's boyfriend. Both of them attend the U of O and love the Ducks! This was a perfect gift for him!

This is an awesome looking mug and since my husband is a big Ducks fan, I really wanted it to be something special. When I gifted him the mug, he was thrilled. Unfortunately, shortly after I gave him the mug, it got a huge crack on the outside layer even though it was never dropped, roughly handled or washed in the dishwasher. (The crack went fully through the outer layer and is quite long.) We always washed it gently and by hand. Of course, we never microwaved it or did any of the other things you aren't supposed to do with a mug like this either. There didn't appear to be any cracks or flaws when we first got it, so I'm not sure what the problem was. Perhaps there was a small manufacturing flaw that was not evident at first. Either way, my husband likes the mug so much that he is still using it even with the cracked outer layer (and the crack spans quite a distance on the mug). (If the crack was on the inside layer, he wouldn't be using the mug still, as the drinks would be exposed to the gel pieces.) I guess that tells you something about how cool this mug is. Anyway, I just ordered a new one and I hope the same issue doesn't come up again. If cracks or other such problems begin to happen, then we'll know that this crack wasn't just a fluke and there is something wrong with the design or construction of this mug. I'm hoping that this isn't the case though. I wouldn't be surprised if my husband keeps the cracked mug for as long as he can before it totally falls apart even once I give him the new one. (-: Hopefully other fans will have better luck with this mug than we had with the mug we have now. (I hope the same for my husband once the new mug arrives.) If the problem we had with the first mug was just a fluke or isolated incident, then this mug is a great find and a great value. However, if cracking and other such issues are common with this mug, then the price paid is just too high and buying it is a waste of time and money. We've had several other freezer mugs over the years (most of which we still own and use) and have never had this issue come up before. I'll update this review and adjust my rating once we get the new mug and have used it for a while. Go Ducks!

I love it. I have several others that don't have a brand name on them but this one was for my husband. He loves it!
