I like this 2-gang size because it is big enough to bring larger cable ends through, and there is enough space for me to reach my hand inside the wall to grab a cable that I'm fishing through the wall. I was previously using a 1-gang plate, and I kept having to take it on and off to reach things.

I recently purchased two wall plates with the intention of running a NEMA 10/30 extension cord from my dryer outlet to the garage, and I'm thrilled with the results. These wall plates have a generous size, allowing the extension cord to pass through easily. Although it does require a bit of force and maneuvering to get the extension cord head through, I was able to accomplish it without any issues.One of the major advantages of using these wall plates is that I no longer have to run the extension cord while keeping the garage door open. This convenience has made my charging routine much smoother, especially since the extension cord connects my Tesla Model Y from the laundry room. I highly recommend these wall plates for anyone in a similar situation, as they provide a secure and efficient solution for routing an extension cord while maintaining a closed garage door.

Live in a older house that I recently wired up for antenna/cable/satellite connections. I cut a double gang low voltage ring into the wall behind my living room TV and attached all the cables to the splitter. I wanted to HIDE the bulk of the wiring behind the cover plate but needed access and some of the cables do need to pass through. This plate did the trick. Looks a little weird but it allowed me to keep the cables and splitter behind the nylon curtain while letting my cables through. Pretty slick.
