Update. Upgrading it to 4 stars as the large size of the plate is not a fault or design flaw.I work on a laptop standing, and I need a stable surface to put the laptop on. Tried several tripods, but they are going back; they are being advertised as suitable for projectors and laptops, but one can only use them for laptops if you are not typing on it: typing makes these tripods shake. This one is sturdy, when you are past the assembly exercise. You don't do it every day, so no deductions for that. The plate holding the laptop is huge and heavy. Besides, it'll show all your fingerprints. I took a piece of synthetic deck wood and cut of a piece big enough to hold my laptop and Trackball. So, one point deduction for that. The cart is supposed to be movable. You are supposed to move it to the place and then lock the wheels to keep it stationary. Locking, and especially unlocking is an exercise. You are supposed to do it with you foot - good luck with that the locks are too tight. Another deduction. The picture shows the original plate vs my laptop and the DIY plate.
