I wasn't real impressed when I opened this monitor riser. The legs seemed flimsy and the shelf itself seemed to be just laminated half-inch particle board. I fully expected the shelf to bend under the weight of a heavy CRT monitor. But it didn't. Once fully assembled, the shelf is surprisingly sturdy, with a stiffness that is unexpected. I'm not sure how it will perform over the long term, but I'm pretty happy with it at the moment.

I bought a 24 TV but it needed to be raised by 4-5 inches in height. I was able to assemble it myself and I'm not at all handy. It fit perfectly on my oval marble table where I put the TV. I put a book under it to hide the cable and it looks elegant in my living room. My table is gray and white marble with black wrought iron legs and so the black stand was unobtrusive and works well with my dcor. I'm very happy with this stand.
