I inherited an old Rockwell 305 sander. The sander is a powerful heavy duty sander and I just didn't want to throw it away due to a discontinued switch. This switch needed some modifications to the handle and wiring but works perfectly.

The Superior Electric L50 trigger switch can be used as a replacement for the 1970s era Sears 315.11850 circular saw. The original Sears circular saw has a switch with 4 wires. However, the white wires are pass through only and do nothing, whereas the black wires are connected to the internal SPST trigger switch. The Superior Electric L50 trigger switch has the DPST configuration with two sets of terminals at each end of the switch. The Superior Electric L50 trigger switch fits inside the Sears circular saw without any mechanical modifications. After removing the old switch simply connect the white wires together and protect them with a small wire nut. The black wires connect to one set of switch terminals; the other set of switch terminals is not needed. Once installed the old Sears circular saw springs back to life. Just be sure to check the wiring before applying power.

installed this on an old black and decker professional chop saw. i was surprised it was a direct fit.i was however surprised to see that the power is interrupted between adjacent terminals. no big deal but would of made initial install a bit quicker to know that. older switch interrupted across length wise

This switch will fit the saw I bought it for but the wireing has to be swapped around to make it work, Make sure you ohm out the contacts before installing. would have been helpful had they put numbers on the switch so you would know how to wire it up .

Good freaking luck finding a switch for a rigid saw. The TYCO ones are non existent. This was shaped exactly like the old one. Only issue is it's 4 terminal vs 3. It does not do the power switching as the old one did for saw blade brake. Otherwise it fit great! Deducted a star as there is no diagram on the exterior. That would have been clutch.
