First time is used it I did not notice the burner did not light all the way, only part of it lit. So as you can imagine it did not work very well. I decided to give it a second chance and realized you need to run a flame all the way around the burner to make sure it lights all around. It worked great, I use it on my boat and it is stable using the pedestal mount. I have used it several times for cooking burgers and dogs works like a champ.

We have a pontoon boat with storage on the end of the seating that houses this grill like it was made for it. The concern about the flame going out does happen but we found if we do not close the cover fully for venting, this happens much less often. We boil water with it for early morning coffee (we have a cabin pontoon so we sleep on the lake). It is a perfect size for all our needs, 3 meals a day. Weren't family comes we can cook 20 hot dogs, and veggie dogs, in no time. This is our second one because I ruined the first by trying to clean it with spray oven/grill cleaner... Won't do that again

Advantages: doesn't take up much roomDisadvantages: won't stay lit, heat reflector rusted out after 1 year, uneven heat distribution, flame goes out in slight wind or if lid is closed."I bought 2 of these grills for our houseboat. They have both been very disappointing from the beginning. I liked that they mounted on the rails of the boat and didn't take up much room. However, they won't stay lit if there's hardly any breeze at all, so they're basically useless if you're out on the water, and the only time I can use them is if we're docked. The flame goes out if you close the lid. The heat is very uneven, and one side will burn whatever you're cooking while the other side barely gets warm. The heat reflector on both of them rusted out after one year even though they were always under a covered dock and not out in the elements. The guy in the boat slip next to me had one too and he had the same problems with his and quit using it. I would not recommend this product to anyone."

makes grilling on the boat a piece of cake. easy to install and use. uses tiny can of propane, but keep a couple spare. you can go through a single can in a single cook out, so be ready to spin on a new one.

Easy to assemble, but tubes tend to stick together so disassembly becomes difficult. Used a little WD40 and now disassembly mush easier. Use it all the time on the party barge. Good quality, expect to get many years of use form this grill.

I bought this for a friend and helped him install it. The base plate that is included is nice so you can choose where to mount the grill. If you're too lazy to install the grill, you can put it in the spot where the table goes in most pontoons. It is not difficult to set up for cooking. Heat distribution is a little off and even on high it doesn't get very hot, but it can cook a few hotdogs. If you're looking for something add to the lakeside dining experience for a good value this is a good buy. One downside is that after a few uses, the grill got stuck to the pole (whether it was the heat or force, I don't know) so it doesn't unassemble as conveniently anymore.

This barbecue does no have enough flame to even cook a hot dog. The flame blows out if there is even a hint of wind don't get it.
