This is a nice quick overview and is generally well done, but it is a very introductory book. I would strongly recommend more detailed research before getting a goat. One correction (pg.6) is that goats horns ARE also made from keratin like cow horns, both have a live bone within them. Antlers are the ones made entirely from bone. There are also some important omissions in the disease section (CAE and Caseous Lymphadenitis, among them), which are important to know about before you get your first goat and introduce these diseases onto your farm. They are much easier to prevent than to get rid of, as is Johnes which was mentioned in the book. Pictures of the various breeds, and more on fiber goats would have been nice too. Despite my comments, I thought this was a nice introductory look at raising goats as long as you follow it up with more research before jumping in.
