Quality part. I have spent lots of money with Parts Express, always well satisfied. My van had factory speakers in the dash and door, after i installed new aftermarket speakers plus a new head unit and amp the dash speakers were too loud in relation to the door units. With this L-pad i can cut the dash units back all the way to zero if desired. The dash units are 5-1/4 34;, i installed a bass blocker to prevent them from reproducing the low frequencies. Hid the L-pad down in the bottom of the dash, not much need to adjust it after the initial dial in. Very nice set up now. As this is actually meant to be installed in a wooden cabinet the shaft is quite long, not quite ideal for what i was doing but not a problem either.

I've added these to a few small guitar amps, as a power soak. rated for 50W, but keep in mind how hot a 60w light bulb gets. this will get pretty hot if you use it on a larger amp. the more you turn it down, the more power it converts to heat, instead of going to the speaker. So I only use these on 10W or 15W amps. they do make other models with higher wattage rating.
