I am very glad with this purchase so far. The shock mount is sturdy and can handle the weight of my samson q9u just fine, also on my review for the samson q9u I wrote that it had horrible bump rejection, this shock mount completely fixed that issue, bumps of the desk no longer distort my audio which is a life saver.

I bought this shock mount as a replacement for the MXL 990 as the original mount was stripped.Much to my surprise, this product seems to be identical to the MXL mount and that's a good thing IMO.Great value, looks nice, seems sturdy and a nice replacement.

After searching many options for a shockmout for my boom-mounted MV7, I settled on this one, and have had a great experience so far. With the stock mount, I used to be able to lightly tap my table and hear the reverb in my headphone monitors, and now the only reverb I can hear is if I touch the microphone itself. This is a very effective, reasonably priced mount that fits the large MV7. The fasteners fit well, though there can be a little bit of play in the hinge if you don't tighten it enough -- but it never droops by itself.

I needed to replace my MXL990 shock mount that originally came with the mic because the thumb screw was stripped and no longer tightened to hold the mount in place. I'm sure I could have bought a replacement screw at Home Depot for next to nothing, but instead, I bought this and it works PERFECTLY.

My only beef is that the thumbscrew on the mic mount is somewhere between hard to tighten and easily gone slack. Or it could just be me.Not much of a problem ...Update: loosened thumbscrew and reseated. May have been a foreign object in there! Seems to work fine now.

Anything I don't like about it goes to the aesthetic, which basically mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THIS MOUNT. It's worth it :)

This was a little big for my microphone but by placing it on a thicker part of the microphone it was snug enough to make me feel comfortable that it will hold the mic.

Works great with the Stealth by Aston Mics. The Stealth is a little heavy for it, but I can't fault them for that. Does the trick, and it's a great alternative to Aston's mount.

I was looking for shock amount for the Shure mv7, which has a tapered body around 60mm. This mount works total fine and holds the microphone well.
