I have been using products like this for a long time. First, it was a solid base stand which would pickup floor vibrations. This is the best all around mic stand that I have ever encountered.

The stand is like $35 so temper your expectations trying to bring this with you on serious gigs and what not. It will probably work out well enough, but long term, who knows. Anyways, I'm using these for drum overheads and they work perfectly. They aren't gonna be getting moved constantly so reliability long term isn't an issue. Small diaphragm condensers are light and won't tip it over, although some reviews have stated that heavier mics will tip it over, most mics should be fine. I've put a shure beta 58A on it and hung it low. It isn't heavy but just to give you a general idea, don't worry about your microphone falling.

Bought this in 2017 for $25 for podcasting and streaming. Ever since then, it has been through 2 microphones (first the standard Blue Yeti, now I use a Samson Q9U), 4 (soon to be 5) moves, and numerous configurations through streams and recordings. It's finally getting to the point where I have to be careful to tighten it all the way when I adjust it, but otherwise it is holding up just fine. I highly recommend it, though if you're using it with a Yeti for streaming/podcasting I feel like it is best to get a shock mount as trying to use it with it screwed right onto the boom is pretty difficult. Still, I did that for months until I could afford a shock mount so it's definitely doable! Overall, this mic stand has exceeded my expectations and even though the price has gone up a bit, I think it's well worth it still.

It holds the microphone, and it holds it well. But it isn't a high dollar stand. It is meant to be VERY stationary, and not meant to be a boom stand of any sort, as it gets top heavy easily. It does a job, and it does a job decent for the excellent price. If you want something fast and cheap, this will work. If you want something solid, durable, and stable... spend more money. These work well for me since I am on a budget, but I must be careful how I use them so my microphones don't get damaged.
