I installed this as a way to allow the speakers on a wakeboard tower to be disconnected. I mounted the directly to the hull with just a little silicone to ensure a watertight seal around the base in addition to the built in gasket because there was a slight curve to the hull. I also used the matching male terminal to make a really nice connection. The pieces are super sturdy and seem to do a great job keeping water out of the connection.
