Prepare with gesso or white paint as the primer first and your wood will not drink paint. A suggestion here: when your painting finished, using a lacquer to cover, since it works and feels glossily smooth and nice. Or you can search more video on DIY website.
HOW TO OPEN YOUR MATRYOSHKA
1. Lay the nesting doll on a soft flat surface.
2. Place the doll so that its seam is perpendicular to the ground.
3. Place the palm of your hand on the steam and apply light downward pressure until the doll begins to open.
4. Press as many times as needed but don't press too hard to avoid breaking your doll.
Due to the good fitness and closure, the largest doll is a little bit tight than the others, once received you can clean out some residual wood chips. Sanding them on the outside will be better, to get rid of some roughness on the largest doll and on its inside to make easier to open and close.
