Obviously, these buttons arent really "necessary", but they're nice looking and have some heft to them which is nice compared to the lightweight plastic buttons. The family took turns trying to get them out of their little cases for a while, failing miserably. Eventually, I figured out how to get them apart, but we actually like to use them in the plastic cases anyhow, so we generally just leave them in there. They fit nicely inside them, and it provides an even larger base. They are very easy to see and keep track of during a Hold 'Em game.My only "wish" for them is that the bottom was the same as the top so when they get flipped over ut doesn't matter. The back is just the gold color with some etched graphics, but does not contain the nice colors or designs as the top. Still, we've switched from the plastic buttons to these nicer ones for our home games.
