I needed a pickguard for my Loar LH-700VS which is based on the 1920s Gibson L5 archtop guitar. Online vendors wanted between $90 and $200. I decided to make my own using the Dopro pickguard material. The sheet is large enough to make 5 or 6 pickguards.I found a picture of a vintage Gibson L5 pickguard, used the image to create a template for my new pickguard.I did the basic cutting with an electric jig saw, used files and sand paper on a sanding block to do the final shaping. I am very pleased with the final result.

This no name project bass has NOTHING standard about it. A standard Jazz Bass pick guard would not fit because the neck dimensions are a little smaller. I liked this finish so I used this material to make my own.The sheet is big enough to make two pick guards with enough left over to make truss covers or back plates or whatever else you might need. Good value.

Lacks luster, cheap looking, if your asking for the truth, you got it, ain't gonna lie, there has got to be better quality out there.

I'm building a double-neck Strat type guitar. The kit came with the pick guard cut for single-coil pickups, which are definitely not my style! This blank was the only thing I could find that was big enough for this project. Very nice material, I know it will work perfectly!

Very attractive product. Seller is clear about it and does not makestatements about it that are untrue. To be sure, the productis not self adhesive, and requires clear plastic top protective coverto be removed upon completion of project. I built a pickguard formy fretless bass, made template to outline the shape, and cut itwith a dremel tool fitted with a small cutting blade. Worked fine!

Bought this to replace the pickguard on my brothers Music Man, Ray 34 Bass. The reason I gave it 3 stars for ease of installation is, if you've never cut your own pickguard before it can be a little tricky. But once you get the hang of it, it's an inexpensive way to customize your guitar,

The graphic looks great, and I appreciate the 2 layers of protective plastic while cutting and routing.
