I have used this brand type for years as a counselor and now I use it to cope with our neighbor's barking dog. I also like the fact it has a plain, old plug. (no chargers, or USB ports,etc). The volume is good with 2 settings. Much like a loud fan. It is just a simple white noise-maker...one sound only; (I have never needed one with 10 or 20 different sounds) I have always found this brand reliable and long-lasting. It takes up a little more room in a suitcase than some brands but travels fine. I like it. Certainly not for someone that wants one to fit in their purse. As a professional counselor, this has been the choice of most of my colleagues.

I gave this to my son to help him sleep. He has a roommate who likes to stay up late and makes a lot of racket. This helps drown out the ambient noise and helps my son sleep better. White noise works!

Bought this for my dog back in 2014 because he's scared of thunder and other noises. Kept it in his crate. It's been running non-stop , 24\7 since then, but today made a screeching noise as if the motor seized. It seems to still work after power off\on, but forgot it was even there until today, so though I should write a review.The dog still lives but mostly deaf so think I'll use it for myself when sleeping.A sticker underneath says Made in USA, enough said

I have problems with my neighbor talking at night. This is the only thing that really helped me!! I even try earplugs, but this machine beats them all. The noise is relaxing, and hides all the other noises in the apartment.

I've slept using one of these sound machines for my entire 26 years. My mom has had hers for 30 years and I've got my newish one for 4 years. I bough this one for my boyfriend because it knocks him out when he stays at my place. He used to have to use the tv to fall asleep which left me very awake. Not anymore. Great investment.

The sound is like a soft fan. You can adjust the cover to allow for more or less air flow. It is soothing and helps calm my mind so I sleep better.

I love this thing. Yes, it only makes one type of sound but it blocks out the sounds of passing cars, and everything else. Very soothing.

It works well and I like that I can plug it in but it is pretty quiet. I really expected it to be louder given its reputation. I have never found the perfect sound machine.

When I ordered this, I thought there was going to be more settings than just fan, but that was my bad for not reading. The fan sound is ok but it wasn't loud enough in my opinion.

I use this in my room for my 6 month old baby. This product was recommended by a family member whose practically swears by it. I do find that my baby is able to go to sleep faster and stay asleep longer but I don't think it takes away from any noise. I have read from other customers' reviews who say that they use it because their spouses snore. This did not work for me as my husband does snore and I have to kick out of bed; it's sad but true! I don't think that this product is worth the $50 as it's just a big piece of plastic that makes noise. I would not recommend this to anyone and won't buy this again when mine finally takes a dump!

Works well until it develops bearing trouble and begins to buzz or have a background high pitched whir sound. Lasted about six months before it began to intermittently produce these symptoms. However this was longer than my first one which did so after a month. I have had it a year now and really should return it to the company, but I haven't had time to deal with it. Such a hassle.
