I bought this to make beef gravy, because I wasn't cooking the roast, for our church function. This made it taste just like I had cooked a good roast and made the gravy from the juices. Excellent product. I gave it 4 stars because it is salty. Just be aware of that when cooking with it.

Read the ingredients. Contains Autolyzed Yeast, which according to many consumer groups can trigger the same reaction as monosodium glutimate (ref: Wikipedia and many other pages).

I'm not a prepper, but I do like to keep a bit of groceries on hand, just in case. I thought this was going to be powder, which would make it great for the price, but it's not dry. It's kind of a quicksand consistency and the expiration is in 5 months. So, I put it in the fridge, just in casse, and I'll use it while I look for something that suits my needs better. It does smell good. I'm just saying.
