Really cool - we can grab little pieces of plants from the yard and examine them. Moving bugs is a little harder but doable. Gives you an activity to share with your kids.

I don't understand the rave reviews for this microscope. I bought one and took it to my granddaughter's class. It's so hard to focus, the kids eventually lost interest in trying. The focus button doesn't do anything at all -- just spins and spins -- so I had to get the object at just the right distance from the lens to bring it into focus, which was hard in some cases. The attachments only worked if the object was of a size and shape that it could fit just inside the tube and rest against the tube. So a fingerprint, yes. A smooth stone, no. A bug, no. I love the photo-taking feature, and would love it more if I could get the objects into focus. I had to take photos from the computer, because using the button on top ruins the delicate focus. In the end, I was able to show the kids some cool stuff, but not nearly what I thought I would. I had higher hopes for this product.

I am a botanical artist and got my zoomy at the suggestion of one of my teachers. It's a great help in seeing a greater level of detail in the specimens I paint.

This thing is really cool. The included software CD was easy to install. I copied the files to my network file server to access and install on all my local devices without having to run the CD on each one. The kids and I have had a blast looking at different things like bugs, money, hair etc... It's not as powerful as a 34;real34; microscope, but a really cool and educational toy we all enjoy.

Cool gift for 8 year old birthday gift. By holding over an item, the magnified image is up on the computer or laptop monitor. Really interesting. The slides are nice, but the real fun was looking at real things. Love!

Good picture quality for exploring macro-invertebrates from local streams with schoolchildren. The shutter button did not function smoothly on the camera and we had to capture image from the laptop. Overall, functional and inexpensive so felt comfortable taking into the field. Kids liked using it.

This amazing handheld microscope that shows your digital images on your computer screen! Got it for my daughter's bd and we are literally in awe of it! If you had told me that we could get such incredible close-up views, for such a reasonable price, I would not have believed it. You can even take photos and videos with it. The software was super-easy to install, our laptop easily recognized the microscope, and we had a lot of fun with it right away! If you place it on a smooth t-shirt, you can quickly easily see a close view of the actual fabric weaving. We put it on a teenage boy's upper lip so he could prove he actually had mustache hairs (and he did!). :-) We placed it on a newly-sharpened pencil and couldn't believe how round the point of the pencil actually was. Can't wait to use it tomorrow on some fruit and onion and other things! One of my sons is going to hook it up to the tv so we can really see a big picture! It comes in blue, green or purple. The only slightly-negative part is that the focuser requires a little bit of force to move. Perhaps it'll loosen up as we use it more. This microscope had everyone in our family, from age 10 to age (?) really fascinated! A great item!

It is a very good product, although my 4 year old niece was too young for it. I would recommen it for 5 years or more.

6 yr. old and 4 yr. old grandchildren delighted with viewing so many different things through this microscope - exploring their world, a good thing. So much easier than a standard microscope that requires the preparation of slides.
