I love these envelopes. I have purchased both sizes 8 1/2 x 11 and the larger legal size. They are very useful for tax papers and house hold manuals to name a couple things. The plastic is thick and sturdy and the string is very tough. I like the string better than the velcro type closure because the string can be let out looser so the envelope can hold more. Obviously the string will break if you pull and yank too hard. Treat these gently and they will last many years.

These envelopes are sturdy & not flimsy. I use them to store my tax prep forms, receipts & worksheets by year. Since they're transparent, I place a bright color 1/2 sheet with year & title of contents written with a thick marker inside the envelope before shelving. Works for me!
