Rags and cloths soaked with solvents, thinners, linseed oil, combustible adhesives and other flammable liquids present a serious fire risk when improperly discarded. Lid opens to no more than 60 degrees and stays closed when not in use, isolating contents from fire sources and limiting oxygen to virtually eliminate the risk of spontaneous combustion. Round construction and elevated base allow circulation of air around can to disperse heat and reduce moisture build-up and rusting. Durable steel construction with a powder-coat finish provides chemical resistance. Ten-year warranty.
SoundGard™ oily waste cans include a sound muffling pad inside lid to significantly reduce lid-closure noise. Ideal for laboratories or anywhere it is desirable to lessen disruptive noise.

Love this thing! Had to get the one w the foot peddle for easy access while oil painting. I feel much safer having this thing to expose if my paint and turp paper towels - as the last atelier I used to take classes at used the same! The atelier before that, didn't, and during a hot summer and broken AC, suffered spontaneous combustion of oil rags! Better safe than sorry.

I got the van for a wood shop. I got a large can so I wouldn't have to constantly be emptying it. The large can is definitely large. I could have gone down a step in size, but I have it and it works as expected. Oh, and it's quite large.
