I wonder how many N64's have been discarded over the decades due to the terrible design of this memory expansion port? It should have had a switch that enables the circuit when the expansion pak is inserted. Instead, when the jumper pak is missing or goes bad, the average person will assume the N64 is dead and toss it. Stupid move, Nintendo. Or were they counting on more sales? At any rate, this aftermarket gem solved my problem and now my N64 is back up running. And, as for the old expansion pak that apparently died.... You don't need it anyway. Only 2 games require it (Majora and DK) and most games run poorly with the higher res. Totally unnecessary. I'm glad to be rid of the damn thing and glad this aftermarket jumper pak was available.
