This is an awesome game, which reenforces basic counting skills. I use it in a Kindergarten classroom and the kids love it! They beg me to let them play it often.

My 4-year-old son loves this game. He has no trouble moving his piece forward for the plus cards and backward for the minus cards. He likes to play it multiple times in a row, and it is even a game that he can play by himself if no one is available to play it with him at that moment. He is a kid who loves numbers and loves counting, so this game seems like a perfect fit for him.If your child is able to count to 10 independently and count 10 objects (counting the spaces on the board), then I think they are ready for this game.My 3-year-old son does well with the game too (following the directions and able to count to 10), but he gets bored before the game ends. If we talk about the nature things on the board that his piece is moving past he stays more engaged, but he does not love this game the way his brother does.

This is a bit expensive when compared to other well know children's games, however I think it is worth having another choice in the game cubby. I like that this game includes cards that actually force you to count backwards, as apposed to sliding back. Cards are as sturdy as any other deck of cards I have, so quality is nice. And you cannot predict a winner..... we love it!!
