i haven't had any issues with the wood (i hand-wash them) but the serration is absolutely awful. i bought two sets to replace my aging steak knives, and these just sit uselessly in a custom-made block because they make a hot mess out of literally any cut of meat. rare steak? useless. medium rare steak? useless. well-done steak? useless. chicken breast? useless. pork chop? useless. i have yet to find anything it can actually cut without it feeling like using an old school handsaw.<br /><br />you know it's bad when your whole family silently decides to use a crap $12 set from walmart instead of these knives when something actually needs to be cut. the handles look lovely and i can get to pretend i own fancy, functional steak knives, but they've only ever been useful as a $40 display piece.
