The character of Jazmine has a rocky path to negotiate at school. Bullying and loneliness have made her very insecure, but things change thanks to the kindness and care shown by one of her teachers. I appreciated especially the many layers the main characters displayed in their personalities, and the wisdom of one of the themes of the storyline that it's better to take hold of your life and make choices rather than just drift along wherever life leads.

This is a book that I think all teenagers that are struggling with bullies should read. It will help them like it helped me.

Ok first off I give NO spoilers in my reviews of books!! :) I read alot of books and this was just an average read for me. There were a couple of surprises that kept me enticed and made it a little hard to put down. The pace was almost too fast and jumped around a bit, but still easy to follow. I would recomend to a friend for an easy couple of chapters to read before bed/sleeping.

Great story. Great characters. Well written. My tweens loved it and said it was the most real book they had read.

I don't really read books about 13 year olds who are struggling with many issues but had heard a lot about this book. Cecily does a fantastic job of enveloping us in the life and heart of a 13 year old battling with many issues. She has dealt with them by trying to avoid her issues and make herself invisible. This would make an excellent book for Year 7 students to study at school. I also loved that this book was Australian with Australian spelling. Loved the cover

This took me back in time also... a very long time. Because of my 'history' it was not an 'easy' read but it certainly seemed a very accurate one. I have read this, and one other book that 'spoke' to me, and my past... Dear God... it's me again by Susan Scott. Although different ages and situations are covered. I believe that both are helpful to people like me, who struggle with being rejected. That said, I believe the author of this book handles the development of her character sensitively, and positively. It is a book I would recommend - and wish the author success!

There wasn't that much wrong with Invisible. I just personally didn't like it. The main character, Jazmine, was 12-13 and I don't think at such a young age would a girl be going through something like that. She was so depressed in the beginning, not caring about anything and then because of one thing she decided to change. In all honesty my favorite character would have to be the teacher. She was there for Jazmine and wanted to help. But Jazmine just changed all to fast and never really went through the healing stage. And when her enemy came back she was a wimp and all her quickly new found "strength" was just gone and she was a wimp. Plus she never told Gabby, her best friend, what was going on. She knew that they were her friends but she never once told them why she was getting bullied. And Jazmine kept going back and forth. One minute she was angry, the next she was blood or in love and then next she was depressed . An just could not make up her mind about her feelings. Jazmine also has a journal and during the book she writes in it. I think it takes away from the story itself. She does a explaining about an event then jumps right into something at school. Over all it was an okay book? I don't think I'll read it again bit of was eh.
