Es sieht wunderschn aus mit seinen Verzierungen, steht bei mir vor der Fensterbank und ist mit 42 Zoll doch so gross, dass es wirklich echt sein knnte. Man fhlt sich wie auf der Schiffs brcke und will gleich mitmachen. Bei der Montage der Messinggriffe gab es ein Problem. Ich nahm den ersten Messinggriff aus dem ein Gewindebolzen mit noch 3 Gewindegngen herausragte und sagte mir, fr ein Schaustck reicht das allemal. Drehte es aufs Steuerrad. Wollte aber nicht packen und einbeissen. Bis ich entdeckte, dass der Gewindebolzen sich in den Messinggriff eingedreht hatte. Da war guter Rat teuer. Weil aber der Gewindebolzen sehr leichtgngig war, das waren brigens alle Bolzen, konnte ich mit einer spitzen Nagelschere den Bolzen aus dem Messinggriff wieder herausdrehen. Also die Bolzen aus den Messinggriffen heraus und zuerst fest ins Steuerrad eindrehen und dann der Messinggriff. Jetzt ist das Steuerrad mit den glitzernden Handgriffen und seinem gemtlichem, schnen braunen Holz der Abflug in die maritimen Trume.

This is a really well made wheel replica, the finish on the wood stain isn't the best but once it's mounted you'd never notice. I took the extra time to clean the excess off of the metalwork, just in case someone had a close look. It wasn't that much of a big deal, but this is quite an expensive product and you'd expect better finish for the price. (Could be a QC problem, but my point remains)

Very sturdy piece, but the stain / clear coat finish looks like an amateur did it. I still love it, and would buy it again even if I knew what the finish looked like.

So, this is amazing, first of all. Our house leans towards "curio cabinet" aesthetic and this is fantastic in the hallway against our wallpaper. Easy to assemble, comes packed sturdy and well. I know it's solid wood and it's a cool piece but I just can't vouch for it being worth the cost, for being a simple wall decoration. No issues with quality!
