Used these to test the air in my house, as well as some mold that was growing on a couple a/c vents in my house. Very easy to use. I opted to send them in to their lab for identification. It was only $40 per plate to have them identified. The results were emailed to me within a week or so. They identified each type of mold found and gave a brief overview of each one. Now I know the mold isnt toxic. I used to work in a lab testing air and surfaces for mold and bacteria, so I can say that these tests seem reasonably reliable.

This will tell you if you have mold, but wont tell you what kind. I laid this around a home, one in a back basement room, one in the main basement area, one in the middle of the house, one in an upstairs closet. I was surprised to find that the places I expected to find mold, I found none. Where I didnt expect to, I did find mold. The middle of the house one grew a ton, but I believe it is because someone had opened a window and it was a very windy day. Youll want to keep it away from the outside elements. To find out more about your testing, you have to mail the dishes in and pay for the results.

This was an easy way to get a decent reading on mold levels in your home. I bought 4 to use in different rooms. DO NOT freak out if you have some mold spores on the indoor Petri dishes. A few are acceptable as no home is completely free of mold (Google for acceptable types and levels)mold spores can come in with you from outside. If after 2-3 days you have dark blue or black mold spores, or your indoor looks the same as the outdoor control dish (which will be covered in spores), then maybe get things checked out. We didnt spend the extra to send them off bc we only had one room with even borderline acceptable levels and we can treat it using an ozone purifier.

Mold spores are everywhere in the environment. If you have a normal immune system you should be able to overcome any risks of mold-induced illness which is highly speculative. This kit doesnt do much to quantify the presence of mold anyhow. Its all hype to take advantage of consumers.

Landlords refused to do anything about the mold. Bought these simple tests. The house smelt like mold so bad even after I replaced the old carpet my self with new flooring. The mold was in the water heater and in the air and in the attic and inside the walls.Buy it. Use it. For your family health and safety because you can suffer long term illness from mold in the air.
