Plastic handles do not stay on and need to be corrected. Duck tape or electrical tape will correct that, or company needs to make tighter handles that don't come off. other than that product works great, and hopefully will last a long time.

We purchased this last August - seemed like it was going to be perfect for our needs. After 7 months the metal snapped and it is no longer usable. Cost way too much for such a short life span.

Have a small 72 round hot tub. This workd just right to remove and stor the cover while in use. Mainly got it for the wife but am now glag it is there for me.

Works as described. I have a round tub, and it works fine for the folded round lid. The adjustability of the bars is a plus, to get the right height to match the height of the tub rim. A challenge in assembly is to lift the edge of the tub up enough to slide the baseplate underneath. I emptied the water and then used a flat-edge spade slid under the edge of the tub to pry the bottom up enough to slide the plate under, which was actually easier than I expected. I found I could also use a conventional crowbar to pry the tub bottom up enough to adjust position of the base plate. Because of the round shape of my tub I had to space the outer brackets about an inch out from the wall, which is fine. The piston works nicely for assisting the lift and lowering it down. I like that you can leave the brackets in the horizontal position which holds the lid almost completely off the tub, or you can pivot them down to get the lid completely out of the way.

Putting it together took longer than expected and I like to build with directions. The two bolts for the hydraulic arm were sent with the wrong nuts so they could not screw together. I tried forcing one with vice grips and tore up the threads. So I used a couple chrome Harley nuts with spiked ends :)You will need at least 2 people to install and the tub empty. It's the perfect cover lift if you don't want to attach only to the tub cabinet. You do need to drill 2 holes in your cabinet to brace the top of this stand. Once installed, it works like a charm.

I had always put my hot tub against my back fence so I could use the fence to support the hot tub cover, while using the tub. Then we needed to build a storage unit, now my fence wasn't an option anymore. Because my tub is octagon, 8 sides, and not square, I couldn't buy a cover support that connected on the sides. I needed a unit that slid underneath the tub. This Blue Wave NP5880 was the undermount that worked for me. The price was reasonable and since the cover itself is only 73 in diameter and relatively light weight this support works perfectly for my hot tub. It was easy to assemble and install and can be used by one person as long the cover folds, which most do.
