The 2 star is not because it's a bad tool, but it simply doesn't last. It is without question one of the best strippers that I've used for CATx cable, especially if you're not bouncing between 90 different cable brands and you're able to set it once and forget about it. The problem is I've owned two of these now, my first coming with a punch down and D-snips set and twice now the spring inside that pulls the blade down has broken or stretched. I made 2 attempts to call Fluke about a replacement as well as sent a few emails and I got no where with it. It's a shame, for what these things cost for a basic tool, they should last forever. I own a lot of Fluke gear and love all of it, from $50 110 tools to $1200 meters. Just really disappointed in this one.

Great quality as expected by Fluke. In dealing with different thicknesses of cables, the adjustable blade is necessary and works very well. Seems like it'd last a long time. Bought 2 just to have one at work and one at home. Highly recommended.

I wanted to love this. I love all things fluke, but after a single cut of a shielded cable (so blade came into contact with foil), this dulled and quit stripping cable completely. I was SO surprised and disappointed. I just called fluke (and said I got a fluke) and they're sending me a replacement. I'm expecting much better from the replacement. Edit to add: Received a replacement after a quick phone call and the replacement has been perfect. I would absolutely buy again based on quality. After more use, it's not the quickest or most intuitive stripper. Also, it's hard to adjust to get a perfect cut without cutting too much and ensuring enough cut, but it works as well as any other stripper I've ever used.

Very average performance. I have gotten much better performance from cheaper simpler strippers. Fluke has definitely made big moves downscale. They may be trying to deal with Chinese competition but if it at the expense of quality then I might as well buy the cheaper product. This is not up to the standard of what the Fluke name used to mean. It is usable but I am on the lookout for a better performing one because I know this is not going to last long just from the feel of it.

I've had one of these identical tools loyally strip cables for 3 years. I bought 4 more as I need them for a large project. As soon as I opened the tool fully once, the spring weakened, and is no longer closing properly. The whole point is for the spring to apply a calibrated amount of pressure on the cable to cut through the shielding evenly, whats the point if it applies no pressure because the spring failed without ever stripping a single cable!?! What do I even do? I can't return the things and I need them! Happily the 3 year old one is still working as intended, even after thousands of cables stripped.
