A completely NON-traditional use! I'm renovating a vintage Ludwig snare drum, circa 20's or 30's, and had very few original parts. I needed a 12" wooden hoop for the bottom of the drum. The 12" quilting hoop from Edmunds works very well! I had to let it out about 1/4 inch, which leaves a small gap, but this is not meant to be a high-quality restoration, I am doing this for sentimental value -- I had drum lessons on it when I was about 10, many long years ago. Buying a "real" drum hoop would have cost a fortune. The angle of the picture makes it look smaller, but it is exactly the same size. Now to find hardware that fits -- they don't make parts for drums this old. Thanks, Edmunds!

Loved the size, was exactly what I was looking for except I would have given it a 5 star had it been made of stronger wood. I haven't used it to quilt yet but I'm just hoping it will hold up.

Love the size - Perfect for doing hand quilting. My project is big and I have a floor hoop, but it's awkward. This smaller hoop makes it managable.

No it is not the top of the line hoop but it is still a good hoop. I love mine! the size is perfect and I am already working on a quilt in it. Somebody complained how cheaply it was made, you get what you pay for. This is a great hoop for beginners, it is easy to handle and if quilting is not to your liking your not out a bunch of money. It is great if you quilt on the go, like vacation or summer home. It is functional. If you have a few burrs on the wood get a piece of sandpaper and use it. My hoop is great!

This is a good hoop. I use it quilting. It has a good screw system and locks very well and holds the material well. I like it very much. Thank you.
