I have had my dyson for about 12 years or so now. It has been a great vacuum. I thought when the button stopped working that I would have to buy a new one. But my husband was able to easily install the new switch. And best of all it was less than $10. It's been about a month now and it's working great.

Exact replacement, easy install after you remove the switch cover, I replaced both switches (both the motor and brush roller switch are the same) and the circuit breaker reset.

The original on-off switch on our Dyson DC-14 Pet vacuum cleaner burned out, so I ordered this switch. According to what I could find, this switch is used on most, if not all, Dyson's. First, I made sure my vacuum was unplugged, then I removed two t-10 Torx screws, the plastic housing (had to press in the clips on the plastic housing with a narrow flat-tip screwdriver), then I used a pair of needle nose pliers to unplug the wires. The pliers just make it easier to grip the terminals, so you don't risk pulling the wire out of the crimped terminal. Then I plugged in the new switch and reassembled in reverse order. The vacuum now works like new.
