Dayton Audio RS100P-4 4" Reference Paper Woofer 4 Ohm

That headline is perhaps misleading. These are fantastic drivers for any price, but get that extra step up to absolutely phenomenal when considering the very attainable price tag. I've heard many more popular branded (and much higher priced) drivers sound like mud compared to the these. I was in such disbelief I went to a local big box store and demo'd their speakers and they all sounded terrible except for the most expensive one. That's the playing field these Dayton's are on, but at a legit affordable price. These sound amazing as replacement dedicated midrange drivers in my 3-way tower (an old infinity tower, I also used Dayton drivers for the tweets and woofs), and, as long as you don't expect too much bass, also would work well as the woofer in a two-way bookshelf speaker. They're the closest thing to studio monitors I've ever owned and I'm noticing new sounds and nuances in my music. Male and female vocals as well as violins and guitars are extremely well detailed making it sound more like you're listening to the artist in-person. This driver works wonderfully for classical as well as metal. To me, their sound is just a tad on the 34;bright34; side, but that is not a negative and may be my a result of my enclosure and/or crossover. Or a result of my being used to muddy, flimsy, crappy over-priced speakers (not that I'm or anything). I like their look and the construction is rock solid. If you're building a new system or refurbing some existing cabinets, I recommend these specific, and I assume the whole product line, drivers.
