Designed specifically for mounting to vertical surfaces, this exciter uses a dual spring spider to better support the large neodymium motor providing improved linearity. With a 2-layer 32 mm voice coil, this exciter can handle up to 40 watts peak for high output even when attached to thicker surfaces. To ensure maximum acoustic energy transfer between the transducer and the surface to which it is attached, 3M VHB (Very High Bond) adhesive is pre-applied... just peel and stick! This exciter is perfect for turning whatever you can imagine into a speaker such as cabinet doors, monitors, windows, garage doors, ect…Note: An exciter\'s frequency response and sensitivity are completely dependent on the exciter\'s designated surface. Thinner, smaller materials will tend to be louder and create a mid/tweeter response. Thicker, larger materials (with multiple exciters) will be slightly quieter but result in a more full-range sound.Specifications: Power handling: 20 watts RMS, 40 watts peak VCdia: 32 mm Nominal impedance: 8 ohms Re: 6.5 ohms Le: 0.36 mH Fs: 580 Hz Dimensions: 2.38\" (60.5 mm) dia. x 0.78\" (19.9 mm) H Adhesive dimensions: 1.26\" (32 mm) outside diameter, 0.9\" (23 mm) inside diameter Weight: 132.6 grams. To learn more about Dayton Audio Exciters, and for help on which Exciter is right for you, check out .Product Details BrandDayton Audio ModelDAEX32Q-8 Part Number295-268 UPC848791001987 Unit of MeasureEach Weight0.3 Product Specifications ApplicationFull-Range Exciter Power Handling (RMS)20 Watts Impedance8Ω 5964555 848791001987 0.3600lbs 0.00 0.00 0.00

Very good detail of recorded sound, fast response, very good spread of range, a little weak on the base side.

A very capable driver, but you need to find the sweet spots on your panel (mark off a grid and measure response spectrum w/REW or similar at each grid location) to get the best output. If your panel has 2 sweet spots, consider placing 2 exciters in parallel. You will definitely need EQ to get flat response, in almost all cases, unless you're a genius at panel construction and placement. Be aware that the exciter resonance around 200 Hz means no output from your panel around that frequency, so cross-over and support with other drivers if you need frequency response across that hole

Made speakers from XP's foam and these exciters. They work well.
